Where is the Nile River?

The Nile is the longest river in Africa and the second largest river in the world. It flows northwards through northeast Africa to flow into the Mediterranean Sea.

1 . Origin of the Nile River

Along the Nile there are two main branches, the White Nile and the Blue Nile, which join at Khartoum to form the main Nile. The main Nile is formed by the Egyptian Nile and the Cataract of the Nile.

2 . Nile River Regions

The present-day Nile basin is divided into seven regions:

The East African Plateau, where in the lower parts are the great lakes. Al-Jabal (El-Jebel) is part of the al-Hajar Mountains in Oman. The White Nile which rises in the Great Lakes region of central Africa and flows north from there through Tanzania, Lake Victoria, Uganda and southern Sudan. The Blue Nile begins at Lake Tana in Ethiopia and flows southeast to Sudan. Atbara is a city in Sudan, belonging to the River Nile Province, located in the northwest of the country and where it connects with the Nile. The Khartoum region of Sudan is the connection between the White and Blue Nile to form the main Nile. Egypt. Nile Delta.

3 . Where does the Nile River flow into?

The River Nile passes through ten countries in northwest Africa, flowing into the Mediterranean Sea, where it forms the great Nile Delta, on which the cities of Cairo and Alexandria are situated.
