1 . Difference between a cataract and a cascade

A cascade refers to a fall of water from a certain height, formed when a river or stream  flows over a precipice, like the one known as Angel Falls. Meanwhile, a cataract refers to a large waterfall, with a very high flow rate, such as the Niagara Falls.

2 . Angel Falls

Angel Falls is the world's highest waterfall, with a height of 979 metres, and a width of 150 metres. The falls flow into the Churún River, in Canaima National Park, in the Guianan savanna region of Bolívar State, in south-eastern Venezuela. The waterfall drops over the edge of the Auyán-tepui mountain, or devil's mountain.

3 . Inga Falls

Inga Falls is the largest waterfall in the world by flow rate. Located on the Congo river, the falls are more than 2.41 kilometres wide and are the site of hydroelectric power plants which divert some 30% of the river's flow. The falls' estimated flow rate is approximately 25,768.33 cubic metres per second.

4 . Khone Falls

Khone Falls is the widest waterfall in the world, spanning 10 kilometres from side to side. They are on the Mekong river in southern Laos, near the border with Cambodia.  During the monsoon season, the flooding river swallows the waterfall entirely, leaving just a rough stretch of rapids.
