Night Cam Catches a Blazing Deer Running From Two Wolves
Have you ever heard the phrase “nothing good ever comes from being out at night?” Usually, this is in reference to hooligans, for lack of a better word, that come out at night and causes all sorts of mischief. They do it so that they are not seen doing it is what they do.
Well, it’s kind of difficult not to be out at night in the wild animal kingdom when so many animals are nocturnal. While we think of animal hunts happening during the day, this is not always the case. Predatorial hunts happen at night just as they do during the day. We see this happening in the video posted below.
Gray Wolves Caught on Camera
The next TikTok video posted at the bottom of this blog post shares footage from a night camera set up in the woods in Manitoba, Canada. This video was shared by Daniel Alexander (@dannyboy_westhawk.) He is a wildlife enthusiast who shares footage from West Hawk Lake, Manitoba, Canada.
This TikTok channel shares footage of various animals in both the daytime and at night. We see various videos of animals such as wolves, deer, black bears, red foxes, white-tailed deer, moose, and porcupines, to name a few.
Gray Wolf Vs. Deer
Throughout this video, we see a variety of different angles in the woods from different night cameras that have been set up. This gives us great footage of this wild hunt that takes place in the middle of the night. This deer is so fast that we can barely see it. And we can’t see that we blame it because he is running for his life after all.
Mere seconds behind the first gray wolf, we see other gray wolves just a few feet behind him. The wolves are smart enough to hunt as a pack. However, this deer is giving them a definite run for their money.
How Fast Can Deer Run?
While no deer cannot fly like the stories of old that we have been told about Santa’s reindeer, they can, however, run at fast speeds, as we saw in the video posted below.
Deer (Odocoileus virginiana) of the family Cervidae ranges in a variety of sizes depending on how old they are and what type of species they are. They can weigh anywhere from 22-990 pounds and 24-206 inches in length.
Deer can run over 40 miles per hour! In fact, one of the fastest deer is the caribou, a deer species that can reach up to 50 miles per hour. It is no wonder these wolves had a tough time trying to catch up to this prey.
