1. The Wilderness Resort

With four outdoor and four indoor waterparks, your family can experience one of the largest resorts in Wisconsin during the summer or winter.

Located on 600 acres of woodland in Wisconsin Dells, the has several different properties in which to stay. The Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort has 444 guest rooms, 40 vacation villas, 76 frontier condominiums, and 35 cabins. Many of the cabins sleep up to 20 people, so it’s a great destination for a family reunion. This location also has four indoor and four outdoor waterparks, giving the Wilderness Resort the title of largest waterpark resort in America.

Another option is Wilderness on the Lake, which offers 108 condominiums located by Lake Delton. The condominiums can be two or three bedrooms in size, and the property has its own private beach. Plus, you can catch the shuttle to the Wilderness Hotel to enjoy all of those indoor and outdoor waterparks.

Lastly, you can choose to stay at the Glacier Canyon Lodge and select one of 460 condominium units.

Counting all of the waterparks at the Wilderness Resort, that’s nearly 500,000 square feet dedicated solely to water rides. That’s about the size of 12 football fields!

Besides the waterparks, the Wilderness Resort also offers a golf club and 9-hole short course, indoor/outdoor go-karts, a canopy zip line tour, and a sky ropes course, which you can travel over the mega arcade at the Wilderness Resort. With these attractions and so much more, this is the largest resort to visit in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Dells Kalahari Resort also held the title for largest indoor waterpark until its sister location in Sandusky, , finished the waterpark expansion in 2007. But, the Dells Kalahari Resort is still the first hotel with an indoor uphill water coaster.

Joining in the competitive spirit of waterparks, Chula Vista has 200,000 square feet dedicated to indoor and outdoor waterparks. Located in Wisconsin Dells, which seems to be a hot spot for big waterpark resorts, Chula Vista Resort has 600 guest rooms along with villas and condominiums that can accommodate up to 14 people.

Besides the waterpark experience, Chula Vista has golf, mini-golf, a 4D theater, and the Spa Del Sol spa, which is just up the road from the resort. At Spa Del Sol, you may indulge in one of their massage packages or book a body treatment to rejuvenate your body and mind. The facials are relaxing as well!

4. Great Wolf Lodge

With a luxurious outdoor event area that is 15,000 square feet in size, many like to plan weddings and reunions at Great Wolf Lodge. With 436 guest rooms and condominium suites, Great Wolf Lodge also boasts of a 76,000-square-foot indoor waterpark.

However, the Great Wolf Lodge is also a favorite among families because of the unique attractions at the lodge. For instance, their MagiQuest is a live-action magical quest. Equipped with a magic wand, embark on adventures to collect magical items, learn Runes, heal pixies, and more.

Or, you can pan for gemstones at Oliver’s Mining Sluice and take home any treasures that you find! Add an arcade, Build-a-Bear Workshop, and art workshops; this is a fantastic option for families with small children.

5. Grand Geneva Resort & Spa

Found just outside Lake Geneva, this resort has 1,300 pristine acres for outdoor entertainment such as skiing, biking, hiking, golfing, and more. As an AAA Four-Diamond resort, its 62,000-square-foot event space is highly sought after. There are 358 guest rooms at the resort, including villas.

There is a 20-acre lake, which is privately owned by the resort, which guests may enjoy. Or, to the west of the Grand Geneva Resort, you may explore the iconic Lake Geneva, which is 5,400 acres in size.
