What Homemade Food is Good for Dogs Everyday?

You might be wondering what your dog can consume that can be made at home every day and is healthy for your dog. Here are 8 foods that you can use every day in these 5 healthy and delicious homemade recipes for your dog. Additionally, you probably have these in the fridge already.

Steamed Veggies

Most veggies can provide a good source of vitamins and nutrients for your pups such as broccoli, cauliflower, and peas. In addition, they can help your dog’s immune system.

Fruit

Fruit can be served as a doggy dessert and doesn’t necessarily need to be cooked. They contain a ton of antioxidants which can reduce chances of cancer, and improve your dog’s immune system. Moreover, you should never give your dogs seeds, pits, or peels. They can become a choking hazard and in some cases, they can be highly toxic.

Boiled Potatoes

Your pup may struggle with consuming red and brown taters. However, sweet potatoes can be added to the menu! Sweet potatoes contain vitamin A and fiber. Plus they can help prevent obesity.

Peanut Butter

Most store-bought peanut butters are not safe for dogs because they contain xylitol which is a sugar commonly found in most peanut butter. However, you can make your own puppy peanut butter at home! Or you can look around to buy peanut butter that doesn’t contain toxic xylitol.

Yogurt

You can use plain yogurt to make dog treats or apply a drop to your puppy’s kibble for an extra boost in digestive rewards. Morever, many dogs are lactose intolerant and most do not handle excessive amounts every day. Just don’t overdo it and you should be good to go.

Chicken

Boiled chicken can provide your dog with protein which is vital to muscular health. However, do not ever add spices otherwise it could be toxic to your pup. If your dog has severe allergies you may want to check with your veterinarian first. Additionally, never feed your dog the bones as it could create a choking danger.

Lean Ground Turkey

Like its chicken cousin, turkey can provide a great source of protein and it is harmless to give to your dog. Additionally, you may not give your dog bones or seasonings.

Eggs

Eggs can help your dog’s coat shine like a diamond and can provide additional sources of nutrients. However, you should never feed your dog eggs more than three times per week.
