What books are American children reading? This summer reading list is worth collecting!

Time:July 23, 2024

ALSC (American Children's Library Services Association) launches a summer book list for children every year, and this year is no exception! This book list selects a series of excellent books and digital media resources, aiming to inspire children to continue their reading enthusiasm during the summer vacation and discover their interests in reading. Simultaneously cultivate their love for reading and lifelong learning.

ALSC, The full name is Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), which is commonly translated as the American Children's Library Service Association (ALA) in Chinese. It is affiliated with the American Library Association (ALA). Although the name may sound unfamiliar, ALSC has established two well-known English children's book awards - The Caldecott Medal and The Newbery Medal!

Every summer vacation, ALSC releases reading lists for children of different age groups for reference by libraries and parents. include:

✅ Birth to Preschool

✅ Kindergarten to Grade 2

✅ Grades 3-5

✅ Grades 6-8

Every year's book list is carefully selected, and this year is no exception! For example, this is the book list for Birth Prik in preschool:

这是幼儿园到二年级(K-2)的:

This is for grades 3-5:

For grades 6-8:

And I also really like the electronic reading learning resource Digital Reading provided in this book list! For example, the website PBS was recommended for preschool students to learn various small knowledge such as English, nature, science, mathematics, health, biology, etc. through short videos.

For example, children can learn natural phonics knowledge here, and the combination of real teachers and animated dolls is particularly interesting!

学习科学的知识:

Baoma has selected three books with different themes and types from the book list for parents. You can receive corresponding e-books and a complete summer reading list in the background!
