Colorado is home to both mile-high elevations and endless plains as both the Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains run through the state. Thanks to these differences in elevation, fall can look very different in different parts of the state. Colorado Pumpkin Patch
Located in Monument, the Colorado Pumpkin Patch is hosted at Colorado Kids Ranch and has delighted families with their fall festival for over 14 years. Colorado Kids Ranch features a ton of kid-friendly fall activities, like jumping pillows, face painting, tractor rides, 80-foot slides, and more! The Colorado Pumpkin Patch has been ranked among the top 25 best pumpkin patches in the U.S. for 2023, as well as the best pumpkin patch in Colorado.

Miners’ Pumpkin Patch
The Western Museum of Mining and Industry hosts its Miners’ Pumpkin Patch event every Saturday throughout the month of October. In addition to you-pick pumpkins, you’ll find fun games like cornhole and sack races, a variety of food trucks and fresh apple cider, and spooky story time! Not to mention a pumpkin smash and catapult for even more family fun. The museum also includes gold panning, mining machine, and blacksmithing demonstrations to incorporate the area’s history into family memories.
Mazzotti Farms
A true working farm, Mazzotti Farms keeps things busy through the end of October. The farm grows a great deal of corn and, as a result, features a 10-acre corn maze after harvest. Take your pick of the perfect pumpkin in the patch — each admission ticket includes a pumpkin! Guests can also enjoy a petting zoo and fall-themed games, as well as the chance to make their own scarecrow to take home.

Long Neck Pumpkin Farm
Built on the dream of a family-fun focused pumpkin patch, Long Neck Pumpkin Farm delivers on that promise. Alongside pumpkins of every shape and size, guests will find hay slides, duck races, tractor swings, and professional photo opportunities to capture those family memories. Long Neck Pumpkin Farm is open weekends between September and October, and asks that guests reserve tickets in advance.
Anderson Farms
The Fall Festival at Anderson Farms runs through October and brings a couple of surprising activities to the usual collection of fall fun. In addition to hunting the pumpkin patch and getting lost in either the corn or “Krazy Rainbow” mazes, guests will find gem mining, five-minute escape rooms, a paintball shooting gallery, a classic wooden playground “Fort A-Lot-A-Fun,” and much more. For night owls, Anderson Farms also features reservable fire pits and a scary version of its corn maze, Terror in the Corn.
The Patch
Newly relocated to Kiowa, the Patch offers a lot more than just pumpkin picking. The family farm also features a four-acre corn maze, train and hayrides, giant slide, pumpkin cannon, and a farm animal petting barnyard. Guests will also find a variety of treats to whet their appetite, ranging from fresh lemonades and apple cider donuts to tacos and pizza from a rotating cast of food trucks.
Happy Apple Farm
Though named for a completely different fall fruit, Happy Apple Farm combines the charm of a you-pick apple orchard with a you-pick pumpkin patch. Apple season opens at the end of August, and by mid-September you can take a free hayride through both the orchard and the patch to enjoy the changing colors. On-site food stalls feature BBQ brisket and pulled pork, chili, and fresh apples transformed into cider, donuts, and pies. Other goodies include homemade jams, jellies, salsas, honey, and more.

Mile High Farms
If you love getting lost in the corn, Mile High Farms is for you! With two corn mazes that span over 11 acres, you might never leave. Mile High Farms has hosted its Fall Festival for over 13 years and takes great pride in its farm. An expansive pumpkin patch is sure to have your perfect pumpkin, while an antique tractor offers rides and other options provide entertainment.
Spooky’s Pumpkin Patch
Heralded as “Northern Colorado’s best pumpkin patch,” Spooky’s Pumpkin Patch prides itself on its pumpkin selection. The patch specifically grows thick-skinned pumpkins — perfect for carving and surviving the unpredictable weather, so your masterpiece lasts as long as possible. In addition to pumpkins, Spooky’s sells everything else you might need for the perfect jack o’lantern, such as carving kits, tools, patterns, and battery lights.
Lone Creek Farms
Lone Creek Farms is home to one of Colorado’s largest fall festivals! In addition to the usual activities — including a huge pumpkin patch! — Lone Creek Farms also hosts activities like zip lines, an inflatable obstacle course, slides, and much, much more. It boasts over 20 activities included with admission, as well as more adventurous options for an additional cost. There’s even mobile escape rooms available! And at night, the festival transforms into a haunted trail that’s not for the faint of heart.
Cottonwood Farm
If simplicity is more your style, Cottonwood Farm hits all the right notes. Its fall market doesn’t require ticketed admission and features everything from pre-picked pumpkins and other squashes to fall decor, local honey, and other items. The fall market is open everyday for your fall needs! On the weekends, a $5 – $7 ticket provides access to Cottonwood Farms’ pumpkin patch, hay and corn mazes, and petting zoo. They also sell Christmas trees during the winter!

Rocky Mountain Pumpkin Ranch
Rocky Mountain Pumpkin Ranch manages to bridge the gap between fall festival and autumnal haven. Open every day during October, guests will find a very different experience depending on when they go. Weekdays see a peaceful and mellow pumpkin patch experience, complete with pumpkin hunting in the patch, hay and corn mazes, inflatable obstacle course, and a certified organic farm stand. Meanwhile, on the weekends, the fun ramps up. In addition to the activities offered on weekdays, guests on the weekend can enjoy various carnival kiddie rides and games, pony rides, fire truck slide, pumpkin and face painting, and on-site food vendors.
Osborn Farm
Established in 1861, Osborn Farm is thought to be the oldest continuously occupied farm in the state. The farm opens at the end of September and is open every day. If you’re looking for a simple pumpkin patch, visiting on a weekday is a great option. Food vendors, hay rides, and a barrel train operate on the weekends to enhance the fall fun. Pumpkins, gourds, heirloom corn, straw bales, and mums (the flower) are all available for purchase.
Maize in the City
More popular for its expansive corn mazes, Maize in the City does feature a pre-picked pumpkin field that’s ideal for those who don’t want to wander muddy fields and deal with prickly pumpkin vines. While you’re here, though, you might as well test your luck with one of the corn mazes. One is over 20 acres, takes an estimated 40 minutes to complete, and comes with a customizable app to help you navigate! For those too daunted by the larger maze, there’s a smaller option as well. Maize in the City also features a playground, barrel rides, and more.

Trinity Acres Pumpkin Patch
Brand new in 2023, Trinity Acres has come out swinging with a whopping 15 attractions on-site. Trinity Acres also aspires to make pumpkin picking more affordable, with flat prices rather than by-the-pound. Enjoy the pumpkin patch with over 17 pumpkin varieties to choose from, as well as wagon rides, jump pillow, petting zoo, and pedal cart track. A rotating variety of food trucks are also on-site to provide fuel for your fall adventure.
Nick’s Garden Center & Farm Market
A year-round stop for all your gardening needs, Nick’s Garden Center also hosts its Fall Fest every day throughout October. Fall Fest features an assortment of free games and straw maze, pedal carts, an inflatable obstacle course, a giant talking pumpkin that tells stories, and of course a wide variety of pumpkins to choose from. Though these are pre-picked, you can still wander the selection in search of the perfect specimen! A market and weekends-only café provides food and drinks as well.
Wishing Star Farm
Wishing Star Farm’s Fall Fest runs on the weekends during October, and hosts a variety of special events on Thursday evenings. A haven for families, the farm features hay rides, jumping pillow, yard games like cornhole, tire swings, and pony rides. In addition, Wishing Star features an expansive pumpkin patch so you can find the perfect one!
Miller Farms
The Fall Harvest Festival at Miller Farms offers something unique — a window into life on a working farm! Between Labor Day and mid-November, anyone can take a tractor ride into the fields and experience what it’s like to pick your own vegetables. Miller Farms grows a huge pumpkin patch in addition to offering crops like potatoes, carrots, onions, peppers, Indian corn, and beets. The 180-acre farm also hosts antique tractors, a corn maze, farm animals, and more to keep everyone entertained. If you’d rather not pick your own produce but still want to support a family-run farm, Miller Farms also offers seasonal CSA (community supported agriculture) programs.

Studt Farms
Advertised as the “biggest and best in the Grand Valley,” Studt Farms offers an extensive list of activities sure to delight the whole family. Wander the pumpkin patch in search of the perfect one, then enjoy the petting zoo, aviary, and pony rides! Kids have a blast on the hay mountain, obstacle course, and two paintball-alternative arenas. In the evening, relax by a reservable firepit and bring your s’more fixings!

For four generations, Something From the Farm has featured acres of certified organic produce and specifically specializes in pumpkins and gourds. The farm boasts fantastic customer service — one of the three farm cats may be on hand to help you pick the perfect pumpkin! In addition to wandering the pumpkin patch, guests can also enjoy the pumpkin trebuchet, hayrides, hay bale maze, and corn cannon. The on-site country store supplies guests with a variety of fall decor, cider, snacks, and home-grown popcorn.
