The History of the Chihuahua
Chihuahua’s get their name from Mexico’s state, Chihuahua. Additionally, Chihuahuas are the smallest dog breed, weighing in at 3 to 6 lbs. If a chihuahua is mixed with other dog breeds, they can grow to weigh more.
Chihuahua’s were derived from the Mexican Toltecs in the 9th century A.D. However, it wasn’t until 1904 that the American Kennel recognized these smal, but mighty pups.
Chihuahuas have small bodie,s but their heart, and personalities are large. Additionally, in recent time,s chihuahuas have been trained to be service animals and therapy pets. On occasion, they can be seen working small tasks on farms, such as hunting mice.
Most often, you will find chihuahuas in the laps and hearts of those who adore this tiny breed with a larger-than-life view of the world.

They Have Professional Degrees in Cuddling
If you’re looking for a dog breed that won’t crush you when it comes to cuddle time, a chihuahua is a great choice. They love to be held and cuddled by their owners. Additionally, they make a great date to snuggle with on frigid days.
