Bed Bugs Vs. Suburban Homes
At the start of this YouTube newscast, we are taken to suburbia, a place where there are nice home developments in a few of Arizona’s well-known cities, Sun City and Scottsdale. The reporter starts by announcing two separate disturbing cases of bedbugs. We say disturbing because of the amount of bedbugs there were. Keep reading.
The first case of bed bugs took place in Sun City, Arizona. There were thousands of bed bugs that were living underneath a king-sized mattress. We warn you that this image the pest control company shared is quite nasty. There are so many that they are smushed into the mattress, and hundreds of them are dead.
The second case of bed bugs was in Scottsdale, Arizona. The pest control company said this one was much worse because the bed bugs were over an inch deep on the floor! The CDC reported that the best way to know whether you have bedbugs is to keep up with regular inspections.
How Small is a Bed Bug?
We know bed bugs are small, but let’s find out just how small! Bed bugs (Cimex lectularius) of the family Cimicidae can be found quite literally all over the world. We see them in Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Central America, Eurasia, Europe, North America, and South America.
These creepy crawlies are only 5-7 millimeters in length and about 4.5 millimeters in height! To put this into perspective, this isn’t even half an inch.
