There’s nothing better than exploring a pumpkin patch in North Carolina on a crisp autumn day. Whether you’re looking for somewhere with a plethora of family-friendly activities, or a haunted hayride, you’re in luck.

We’ve scoured the web and found some of the best pumpkin patches in North Carolina. Here are our top picks to add to your fall bucket list!

1. Hubb’s Farm

Hubb’s Farm is a pumpkin patch close to Fayetteville. It’s the best spot in Eastern North Carolina for autumnal entertainment. Hubb’s Farm provides themed weekend festivities in addition to its pumpkin patch.

Visit at night to enjoy the flashlight corn maze! Adults can explore the antique festival and the entire family will love the duck derby!

Pa’s Kitchen offers a wide variety of delectable sweets. Our favorites are the fried pop-tarts, grape slushies, and of course, the funnel cake! We also suggest making reservations and buying tickets online.

2. The Vollmer Farm

With over 40 acres for guests to explore, the Vollmer Farm in Bunn is a great place to visit. There’s a giant pumpkin pillow, hayrides, and even an underground slide. With the price of admission, there are quite a few perks.

You’ll get free pie, a ride on the wagon, entry into the corn maze, and a go on the obstacle course. If you’re willing to pay extra, consider going gem mining, turkey shooting, or paddling. They offer fair-like food such as soda, nachos, and hot dogs as well.

3. Carrigan Farms

Next, is a local beloved pumpkin patch that’s been running since 1975. Carrigan Farms in Mooresville is a one-stop shop. You can pick pumpkins off the vine to bring them home for decoration or to carve.

There’s also a petting zoo and a hayride to enjoy. If you go early enough in the season, there is a stunning field of sunflowers that make the perfect backdrop for a family photo. You do have to book a reservation for Carrigan Farms.

It’s suggested to show up about 15 minutes ahead of time. It’s cash-only and the entry fee is $10 per person.

4. Millstone Creek Orchards

Selfishly, Millstone Creek Orchards is one of our favorites! It’s a short drive from Asheboro and has everything you need for the ultimate autumn excursion. When visiting on Saturday and Sunday you will need a reservation to pick pumpkins.

They plant thousands of pumpkin seeds every year, so you’re bound to find the perfect one! They sell apple cider slushies and apple cider donuts that really put you in the seasonal spirit. On weekends in October, Millstone Creek Orchards has live music and encourages guests to bring a chair or blanket to take it all in.

5. Kersey Valley Maize Adventure

If you’re looking for the perfect pumpkin patch in North Carolina to bring your kiddos, look no further than Kersey Valley Maize Adventure. As you can guess by the name, they have an incredible corn maze.

There are giant jumping pillows, rides on pedal tractors, a cow trail, and kiddie zip lines. Your kids can have a blast on the adrenaline-inducing slides, rock walls, and bungee trampoline. Don’t forget to check out the Treehouse Village and the dinosaur discovery zones while you’re there.

When you inevitably get hungry from all these activities, there are five different places to eat. We suggest getting a caramel apple cider sundae from the Apple Cider Donut Shop. Tickets are $25 per person and get you access to all the activities!

6. Riverbend Farm

Next, we travel to Cabarrus County to enjoy a day at Riverbend Farm. This pumpkin patch has been open for decades, so they know how to give guests exactly what they’re looking for!

There are plenty of giant pumpkins to choose from and admission tends to be more affordable compared to other pumpkin patches in North Carolina. One thing to note about Riverbend Farm is that it’s only open in the month of October for fall activities.

7. Page Farms

Before fall hits, visit Page Farms for delicious strawberries and blueberries. Just like how you can pick your own pumpkins here, you can go berry picking in the summer! When autumn comes around, Page Farms is open Wednesday through Sunday.

When visiting on the weekdays tickets are $12 per guest. Weekends are $15 per person and you get one pumpkin free with the price of admission! Visitors can also enjoy the petting zoo, a hay slide, hayrides, and a corn maze.

8. Hill Ridge Farms

Visit Hill Ridge Farms for their Fall Pumpkin Festival which runs through October. It’s open from Wednesday through Sunday each week. The base admission is $20 per person. This gets you a covered wagon ride, a pumpkin, access to picnic areas, and farm animals.

For $30 a person, you’ll get all of that and more. A train ride, duck race, gem mining, and a carousel ride are included. Visitors can save money if they’re planning to visit multiple times by purchasing unlimited farm visits for $75.

There are multiple food vendors on site. They sell everything from lemonade to popcorn. It’s advised to bring cash for the food vendors.

9. Smith’s Family Fun Farm

At Smith’s Family Fun Farm, there is something for everyone. Of course, you can enjoy picking a pumpkin straight off of the vine. There is no cost to enter the farm, but pumpkins do start at $5.

There is a sunflower maze and a giant slide here as well. Some people go simply to watch work being done at the Forge and Sawmill! You can create art of your own, or watch others.

10. Phillips Farm

In Cary, NC, Phillips Farm is a great place to spend a fall day. They have a standard corn maze which costs $15 to enter. The haunted farm activities are $25 per person. There are fun activities such as huge bounce pillows, a mud kitchen, and a rope maze.

There are pygmy goats and other small livestock for you to pet and feed. On Saturdays and Sundays in Autumn, Phillips Farm offers tasty hot apple cider, sweet kettle corn, and more delectable treats!

11. Naylor Family Farm and Corn Maze

The Naylor Family Farm serves as one of the area’s more recent attractions, yet a day spent there is nonetheless filled with enjoyment. Each paid entry gets one free pumpkin, with each additional pumpkin costing just 75 cents per pound.

They guarantee that for $20 per individual, you can experience over 20 activities and get a free pumpkin as well. The farm pass offers the chance to add additional attractions for a fee in addition to a hayride around the patch and spending time with adorable farm animals.

You can also enjoy the snack bar or bring your own food for a delightful picnic.

12. Ashe County Corn Maze and Pumpkin Festival

If you’re trying to find the best pumpkin patch in western North Carolina, check out Ashe County Corn Maze and Pumpkin Festival. Visitors can select from a variety of pumpkins and gourds inside the festival’s pumpkin patch.

Then, spend 30 to 60 minutes leading your family around the four-acre corn labyrinth. There is much to discover on the festival grounds for visitors of any age, from Saturday live music to a variety of kid-friendly bounce houses. Each guest must pay $10.
