Brittany Spaniels are a beautiful dog breed. They come in a few different colors. However, some of these colors are far harder to find than others. It’s pretty easy to find a white and orange Brittany Spaniel, for instance, but a liver-colored Brittany Spaniel can be exceptionally challenging.

We’ve listed the rarest Brittany Spaniel colors all the way to the most common.

1. Liver Roan

Liver basically means brown, and the roan pattern involves lots of spotting. Therefore, these dogs are brown and white with speckling.

Liver roan Brittanys have a rich liver coloration (aka brown) and a roan pattern. Simply put, this pattern has very tiny white hairs throughout their liver coat. These dogs have a pretty unique speckled coat for this reason.

As the first option on this list, this coloration is the rarest. These dogs are sometimes sought after due to their uniqueness and rarity. They absolutely stand out from other canines.

2. Liver & White

As the name suggests, these dogs have a liver base coat with white markings. Some are about 50/50. Others are mostly one color. Any dog that is mostly liver-colored falls into this category.

The liver areas contrast the stark white, which makes this one of the more popular colors. Plus, many people do look for this color solely because it is rare. They stand out from other options due to their rarity.

3. White & Liver

White and liver dogs have a mostly white coat with a smaller amount of liver. They’re very similar to the color above, but in this case, white is the primary color. Again, the white and liver coloration is extremely contrasting, which makes them pretty interesting.

Plus, because they’re rarer dogs, they tend to be sought after by those looking for a more unique dog. The color is quite captivating and eye-catching.

4. Orange Roan

Orange Brittany Spaniels are pretty common, but the roan pattern is not. Therefore, orange roan dogs fall somewhere between rare and common. They’re in the middle.

As we’ve stated, this pattern is characterized by many white hairs spread throughout the coat. They make a captivating speckled effect, which makes them sought after to some extent.

5. Liver, White, & Orange

Some dogs have all three colors and are appropriately named “tri-color.”

These canines have three different colors on their coat: liver, white, and orange. This tri-color pattern is pretty interesting but is also one of the more common colorations. Generally, these dogs are mostly liver with some level of white and orange markings. However, the extent does vary a little bit. Some have lots of markings, while others do not.

Many people like these dogs because they tend to vary a lot. After all, there are three different colors to vary.

As a whole, though, these dogs aren’t very rare, so you can often find some tri-color puppies available.

6. White & Orange

As you might guess, white and orange Brittanys have a predominately white coat with orange markings. Simply put, the white portion needs to be over 50% of the coat. However, the orange can be anywhere from 1% to 49% of the coat.

This coat color is what many people recognize when they imagine a Brittany Spaniel. It isn’t necessarily the most common option, but it’s pretty close. You can find them very easily.

7. Orange & White

Brittany spaniels come most commonly in orange or white. Therefore, these dogs are exceptionally common.

Orange and white Brittanys have a base coat of orange or amber adorned with crisp, white markings. The orange must make up 50% of the coat or more for these dogs to fall into this category. Sometimes, they have very little white, and sometimes they are almost 50/50. Either way, the dog falls into this category.

This coloration is very common. Most of these dogs fall into this category or the previous one.

Therefore, this color is typically considered the “classical” one and is very common in the show ring.
