Because over 4 million people rely on cotton for their livelihood, it has been revealed that cotton has become an important crop in the country. The government is one of the leading reasons why farmers have increased production as they set out these targets. Most of the organic cotton grown in Mali is concentrated in the Koutiala and Bougouni districts of Mali’s Sikasso region.
