See This Insatiable Grizzly Bear Sink Its Teeth Into a Car Tire Like Its a Jelly Donut

Hunger never seems to strike at the best moments. It always happens when we’re at work, deep on a call we can’t get out of, driving down a highway with no food stops in sight, or on our way home from work, but we forgot our wallet.

Sometimes, we resort to the dingy breakfast bar that’s been sitting in our car or grab a handful of change and hope it’s enough to grab a quick snack somewhere, or at other times, there’s nothing we can do, and we just starve. (Okay, well, not literally, but you know what we mean.) We see this happening with a grizzly bear on the side of the road!

Grizzly Bear Sighting

We see at the start of this video there is a jeep and a car parked along the side of the road. The jeep is geared up like a family is on vacation somewhere. We hear the sounds of someone filming and photographing the event that is happening below. And what is happening is there is a giant grizzly bear walking by. And he is hungry.

He stops by this jeep and immediately goes over to inspect the tire that is hanging on the back. We see this bear start to bite into this tire like it’s a jelly donut or something! He continues to rip it up. Only with every bite he gets upset because it’s not the food he desperately wants.

What Do Grizzly Bears Eat?

Grizzly bears (Ursus arctos horriblis) of the genus Ursus are omnivorous eaters. According to Live Science, “Omnivores are the most flexible eaters of the animal kingdom. They eat both plants and meat, and many times, what they eat depends on what is available to them. When meat is scarce, many animals will fill their diets with vegetation and vice versa.”

These bears can weigh a whopping 400-800 pounds (181-318 kilograms). As “big boys,” as we would call them, they eat quite a bit of food daily. According to the U.S. National Park Service, grizzly bears can eat up to 30 pounds of food per day. They do this to help them store the fat that they need for the winter.

Grizzly bears eat a varied diet of plant matter, such as berries, grass, roots, and mushrooms. But, as omnivores, they will also eat things such as deer, elk, and mice. However, one thing in our research that we haven’t found grizzly bears eat is Jeep tires. But, we guess this bear is making his way in the world alone.
