常用来形容一个人的手段、技能已经用尽，无法再解决问题或应对局面。

在古代的贵州（古称黔地），这里的人们都没有见过驴。

In ancient Guizhou (formerly known as Qiandi), people here had never seen a donkey.

有一个商人带着一头驴来到这里，但是这里山地比较多，驴实在没有太大用处，然后这头驴就被遗弃在山林中。

A merchant came here with a donkey, but there were many mountains here, and the donkey was really useless, so the donkey was abandoned in the mountains and forests.

山林里住着许多野生动物，它们也从未见过驴，对这突如其来的“庞然大物”感到既好奇又害怕。
