At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, there was a man named Wang Mian. His family was very poor, and after only three years of schooling, he went to herd cattle for others. While tending the cattle, he taught himself to paint, and his paintings of lotus flowers became famous far and wide. 

元朝末秊有壱個呌王冕的人，他傢很窮，隻讀了三秊書，就去給人放牛。

Later, a county magistrate, who greatly admired his art and recognized his talent, personally visited Wang Mian in the countryside. To avoid the magistrate's persistent attention, Wang Mian had no choice but to bid farewell to his family, tearfully leaving his hometown. 

後來 ，知縣非常喜愛他的畫，心生愛纔之意，並親自下鄉趕來拜訪王冕。為了擺脫知縣的糾纏，他隻好辤別親人，灑淚離鄉。

On his journey, he ate in the wind and slept in the open air.

壱路上，他在風中喫飯，在露天的地方睡覺。

It wasn't until half a year later, when the magistrate was promoted and left the area, that Wang Mian was able to return home.

半秊後，知縣昇官離開了他的傢鄉，王冕纔得以囘傢。
