And those who cannot go home for various reasons will also look at the same moon and miss their relatives far away.

Every moon cake carries the maker's thoughts and blessings, and is passed on to those who taste it.
Of course, there are several widely circulated mythological stories during the Mid-Autumn Festival:
Chang'e flies to the moon: According to legend, in ancient times, Chang'e stole the immortal medicine that her husband Houyi asked from the Queen Mother of the West, and flew to the Moon Palace alone. Houyi thought about it day and night, hoping to see his wife again. Later, the immortal instructed Houyi to make balls with flour on the full moon night of August 15, and put them in the northwest direction of the house, calling Chang'e's name. Sure enough, he saw Chang'e flying from the moon, and the couple reunited. This legend is also a theory of the origin of moon cakes.
Jade rabbit pounding medicine: According to legend, Chang'e had a jade rabbit in the Moon Palace. It knelt on the ground to pound medicine and made toad pills. Taking this medicine can make you immortal. This legend made the jade rabbit synonymous with the moon.
Wu Gang cuts down the laurel: There is a laurel tree in the moon. Wu Gang was punished to go to the Moon Palace to cut down the laurel tree because of his mistake, but the laurel tree closed as it was cut, and Wu Gang never cut it down. This legend makes the moon also called Guiyue and Guilun.
These stories not only enrich the cultural connotation of the Mid-Autumn Festival, but also express people's yearning and pursuit for reunion and a happy life.
