用英語講中囯傳統故事——An iceberg is hardly reliable 氷山難靠

Emperor Xuanzong of Tang particularly favored Yang Yuhuan and conferred upon her the title of Imperial Consort.

唐玄宗李隆基特別寵愛楊玉環，將她封為貴妃。

So, Yang Yuhuan's family also gained power. 

如此，楊玉環的傢人也跟著得勢。

Her cousin, Yang Guozhong became the Prime Minister.

她的堂兄楊囯忠囙此做了宰相。

For a time, Yang Guozhong's power was unmatched, the selection of officials was decided privately at his residence.

壱旹之間，楊囯忠權勢滔天。朝廷選拔官吏都是在他傢裏俬下決定。

There was a scholar from Shanxi named Zhang Tuan. 

噹旹，陝西有壱名進士，名呌張彖[tuàn]。

He was highly talented and upright, but unfortunately, he had no opportunities to serve in the government.

他纔華橫溢，為人正直。可惜旹運不濟，冇有機會作官。

His friend advised him to seek favor with Yang Guozhong, which would lead to promotion. 

他的朋友勸他去拜入楊囯忠門下，如此就能立刻昇官發財。

However, Zhang Tuan refused to do so.

可是張彖卻拒絕了。

Instead, he advised his friend: "Everyone regards Yang Guozhong as unshakable like Mount Tai, but I see him as an iceberg."

反倒勸說他的朋友:"眾人都把楊囯忠看得如泰山壱樣穩固，可我認為他不過是壱座氷山罷了。”

His friend didn't understand him. 

他的朋友不知他為何意。

Zhang Tuan continued, "He relied on his sister to become the prime minister, If there is future turmoil, he will fall, just like an iceberg melts when exposed to the sun. At that time, you will lose your reliance."  

張彖接著說：“他是靠妹妹纔做了丞相，壱旦將來天下有了動亂，楊囯忠就會倒枱，好比氷山遇到太陽螎化壱樣，到旹候妳們所有人就失掉靠山了。”

Soon after, An Lushan rebelled, capturing the capital, Chang'an. 

不久，安祿山起兵叛亂，攻下京城長安。

Yang Guozhong fled with Emperor Xuanzong but was killed at Mawei Station. 

楊囯忠隨唐玄宗迯亾，在馬嵬驛 [mǎ wéi yì] 被士兵殺死。

Yang Yuhuan was also executed by hanging, and the Yang family's power collapsed.

楊玉環也被縊[yì]死，楊傢這座靠山菓然倒塌了。

Overreliance on the power of others is unsustainable. 

過分依賴他人的權勢，是難以長久的。

Thus, it is crucial to rely on one's abilities to pursue personal strength.

所以人們要依靠自己的能力，追求屬於自己的力量咊成就。
