Ingredients:

  • Pumpkin puree (1 cup)
  • Eggs (2)
  • Peanut butter (3 tablespoons)
  • Oat flour (2 1/2 to 4 cups)
  • Cinnamon (1/2 teaspoon)

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Whisk peanut butter, pumpkin, and eggs together.
  3. Fold in 2 1/2 cups of flour and cinnamon.
  4. Add more flour until the dough isn’t sticky anymore.
  5. Roll out dough and cut shapes.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes.

  • Peanut butter (1/2 cup)
  • Canned pumpkin puree (1/2 cup)
  • Oat flour (3/4 cup)

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Mix pumpkin and peanut butter together in a large bowl.
  3. Fold in oat flour and knead with your hands.
  4. Roll out dough to ¼ inch thick.
  5. Cut into the desired shape.

These pumpkin treats add the sweetness of bananas, which are safe for dogs to eat in moderation.

Ingredients:

  • Pumpkin puree (1 cup)
  • One banana, mashed
  • Two eggs, well-beaten
  • Whole wheat flour (3 cups or more as needed)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with a silpat mat.
  2. Mix the pumpkin, mashed banana, and beaten eggs together until well combined.
  3. Add the flour and mix until combined. Use more flour as needed if the dough is too sticky.
  4. Dust the counter with flour and roll out the dough to approximately 1/4″ thickness and use a small dog bone cutter to cut out treats.
  5. Place on the prepared baking sheet an inch apart.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown and crisp. Allow to cool on completely before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 weeks.

Pumpkin Carrot Pupcakes

If you’re an avid baker and are looking to try something a little fancy, this “pupcake” recipe is perfect for a special event, like celebrating your dog’s birthday.

Ingredients:

  • Whole wheat flour (1/2 cup)
  • Baking powder (1 tsp)
  • Egg (1)
  • Maple syrup (1 tbsp)
  • Peanut butter (1 tbsp)
  • Pumpkin puree (1/2 cup)
  • Shredded carrot (1/2 cup)
  • Greek yogurt (1/4 cup)

For Frosting:

  • Greek yogurt (1/2 cup)
  • Peanut butter (2 oz.)
  • Maple syrup (1/2 tbsp)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Whisk all the ingredients together in a medium bowl until well incorporated.
  3. Using an ice cream scoop, scoop batter into a lined 6-muffin tin.
  4. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until firm.
  5. Place all of the ingredients for the frosting in a bowl and mix well.
  6. Spoon the frosting onto cooled cupcakes.

Dogs can enjoy donuts too with this tasty recipe that adds chicken broth to make it extra palatable.

Ingredients:

  • Whole wheat flour (1 cup)
  • Ground flax (1/2 cup)
  • Cinnamon (1 tbsp)
  • Two eggs
  • Unsweetened applesauce (1/3 cup)
  • Pumpkin (3/4 cup)
  • Almond milk, unsweetened (1/4 cup)
  • Chicken broth (1/4 cup)

For Glaze:

  • Almond milk (2 tbsp)
  • Honey (2 tsp)
  • Tapioca flour (5 tbsp plus 1 tsp)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, flax, and cinnamon. Set to the side.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the two eggs.
  4. Stir in the applesauce, pumpkin, almond milk, and chicken broth.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet.
  6. Spoon the dough into a disposable pastry bag.
  7. Spray each cup of the donut pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  8. Fill each cup to the top with the dough.
  9. Bake for 12 minutes.
  10. Let the pan cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before turning the doughnuts out onto the wire rack.
  11. Repeat steps until there is no more dough.

Glaze:

  1. Whisk together the almond milk and the honey.
  2. Add one tablespoon of tapioca flour at a time and stir together until dissolved.
  3. Once all the tapioca flour is added, drizzle the glaze on the cooled doughnuts.
