英语绘本 ▏每日一读之《白蛇传 The Legend Of White Snake》

很久很久以前，有一条白蛇经过千年的修炼，变成了一名美丽的女子，她给自己取名叫白素贞。

A long time ago, a white snake transformed into a beautiful woman after thousands of years of cultivation. She named herself Bai Suzhen.

一年清明节，她和青蛇修炼成人的小青一起去西湖游玩。

One year during the Qingming Festival, she went to the West Lake with Xiaoqing, a green snake who had cultivated into an human being.

多年以前白蛇曾被一位姓许的牧童从捕蛇人手中救下。而白素贞这次就是为了报恩而来的。

Many years ago, the white snake was rescued from a snake catcher by a shepherd boy named Xu. This time, Bai Suzhen came to repay her gratitude.

白素贞与许家后人——许仙同乘一只船，他们因此相识了，后来结为了夫妻。

Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian, a descendant of the Xu family, were on the same boat. They met each other and later got married.

成亲之后，许仙与白娘子带着小青来到镇江，开了一家药店名叫保和堂。

After getting married, Xu Xian and Bai Suzhen brought Xiaoqing to Zhenjiang and opened a pharmacy called Baohetang.

转眼间到了端午节，按照习俗要在这天喝雄黄酒辟邪，白娘子拗不过许仙，喝了一小杯雄黄酒。

In a blink of an eye, it was the Dragon Boat Festival. According to custom, people had to drink realgar wine to ward off evil spirits on this day. Bai Suzhen couldn't resist Xu Xian and drank a small cup of realgar wine.

不一会儿，药性发作了，白娘子赶紧回房间躺下，但是已经现出了蛇身的原形。

After a while, the drug took effect. Bai Suzhen hurried back to her room and lay down, but her original snake body had already appeared.

“啊！”许仙惊叫一声，昏死了过去。

"Ah!" Xu Xian screamed and fainted.

白娘子醒来后，看见倒在地上的许仙，不禁大哭起来。小青说道：“姐姐先别哭，快想个办法救他吧。”

After Bai Suzhen woke up, she saw Xu Xian lying on the ground and burst into tears. Xiaoqing said, "Sister, don't cry yet. Think of a way to save him."

白娘子想了想说：“我要去昆仑山，盗仙草救许仙，你先替我照顾好他”

Bai Niangzi thought for a while and said, "I'm going to Kunlun Mountain to steal the magic grass to save Xu Xian. You take care of him for me first."

白娘子来到了昆仑山，她刚落到地上就被看守仙草的鹤发现了。鹤伸着脖子就来啄白娘子，忽然一个拐杖将鹤给勾了回去。

Bai Niangzi came to Kunlun Mountain. As soon as she landed on the ground, she was discovered by the crane guarding the magic grass. The crane stretched its neck to peck at Bai Niangzi, and suddenly a crutch hooked the crane back.

白娘子回头一看，原来是南极仙翁。白娘子哀求道：“请将仙草给我吧，我要回去救人。”南极仙翁被她的真情打动了，将仙草送给了她。

Bai Niangzi looked back and found that it was Nan Ji Xian Weng. Bai Niangzi begged, "Please give me the magic grass. I want to go back to save people." Nan Ji Xian Weng was moved by her sincerity and gave her the magic grass.

吃了仙草后，许仙醒了过来，问道：“娘子，你没事吧？床上怎么会有一条白蛇？”

After eating the magic grass, Xu Xian woke up and asked, "Madam, are you okay? Why is there a white snake on the bed?"

白娘子回答道：“相公别怕，那是苍龙显灵。”

Bai Niangzi replied, "Don't be afraid, my husband, it's the Canglong spirit."

许仙去寺庙上香，以保佑家人平安，但他刚踏进寺庙就被一个和尚拽到一边。

Xu Xian went to the temple to burn incense to bless his family's safety, but he was pulled aside by a monk as soon as he stepped into the temple.

和尚对他说：“你身上有妖气，需要马上出家消灾。”这个和尚就是法海。

The monk said to him: "There's a demon in you, you need to leave home immediately to get rid of the evil." This monk was Fahai.

许仙不同意，法海就强行把他留在了金山寺里。

Xu Xian disagreed, so Fahai forced him to stay in Jinshan Temple.

白娘子得知消息后来到寺庙，怒斥道：“法海，快把我相公放了！”白娘子生气的搅动着江水，打算水淹金山寺。

After hearing the news, Bai Niangzi came to the temple and shouted angrily: "Fahai, let my husband go!" Bai Niangzi stirred the river water angrily, intending to flood Jinshan Temple.

法海见了连忙脱下身上的袈裟，罩在寺庙的门上。忽然闪过一道金光，袈裟变成了长堤挡住了滔滔江水。

Fahai saw it and quickly took off his robes and covered the door of the temple. Suddenly a golden light flashed, and the robes turned into a long embankment to block the surging river.

这时的白娘子已经怀孕了，她渐渐支撑不住，只好带着小青离开了。被关了半个月的许仙也找机会逃出了金山寺。

At this time, Bai Niangzi was already pregnant, and she gradually couldn't hold on, so she had to leave with Xiaoqing. Xu Xian, who had been imprisoned for half a month, also found an opportunity to escape from Jinshan Temple.

他回到家一看，发现白娘子不在，许仙也不知道该去哪里寻找，就收拾好了东西去了杭州的姐姐家。

When he returned home, he found that Bai Niangzi was not there. Xu Xian didn't know where to look for her, so he packed up his things and went to his sister's house in Hangzhou.

这天许仙步行来到当初和白娘子相遇的西湖边，正当他伤心的时候，突然听到有人喊：“相公！原来你在这啊。”

That day, Xu Xian walked to the West Lake where he met Bai Suzhen. Just when he was sad, he suddenly heard someone shouting, "Husband! So you are here."

原来白娘子正好出来散心，两人意外地重逢了。

It turned out that Bai Suzhen was out to relax, and the two met unexpectedly.

不久，白娘子生下了一个胖儿子。许仙乐得嘴都合不拢了。

Soon, Bai Suzhen gave birth to a fat son. Xu Xian was so happy that he couldn't close his mouth.

此时，法海也从镇江追到了杭州，趁着白娘子现在身体虚弱，他用金钵罩住她，然后把白娘子压在了雷峰塔下。

At this time, Fahai also chased Bai Suzhen from Zhenjiang to Hangzhou. Taking advantage of Bai Suzhen's weak body, he covered her with a golden bowl and pressed Bai Suzhen under Leifeng Pagoda.

法海狂妄的说：“哼！要想救出白素贞除非雷峰塔倒，西湖水干！”

Fahai said arrogantly, "Humph! If you want to rescue Bai Suzhen, you must collapse Leifeng Pagoda and dry up the water of West Lake!"

小青逃到深山里刻苦修炼了好多年，本领变得十分高强。这天，小青回到了西湖边，她想要救出白娘子。

Xiaoqing fled to the mountains and practiced hard for many years, and her skills became very strong. That day, Xiaoqing returned to the West Lake and wanted to rescue Bai Suzhen.

小青和法海大战了三天三夜，渐渐地法海支撑不住了。

Xiaoqing and Fahai fought for three days and three nights, and gradually Fahai couldn't hold on.

小青将手里的剑一挥，只听轰隆隆一声巨响，雷峰塔倒了。白娘子从塔里逃了出来，和小青一起追打法海。

Xiaoqing waved the sword in her hand, and there was a loud rumbling sound, and Leifeng Pagoda collapsed. White Snake escaped from the tower and chased Fahai with Xiaoqing.

法海见自己打不过她们俩，便跳进了西湖里，白娘子从头上拔下一只金钗，迎风一晃，变成了一面旗。

Seeing that he could not beat them, Fahai jumped into the West Lake. White Snake pulled out a golden hairpin from her head and shook it in the wind, turning it into a flag.

小青接过旗在头顶摇了三下，西湖的水一下就干了。

Xiaoqing took the flag and shook it over her head three times, and the water in the West Lake dried up.
