英语绘本 ▏每日一读之《熟能生巧 Practice Makes Perfect》
北宋时期，有一个叫陈尧咨的人，非常善于射箭。
During the Northern Song Dynasty, there was a man named Chen Yaozi who was very good at archery.
当时的人都知道，他是一个百发百中的射箭能手，所以大家对他都很敬佩。
Everyone at that time knew that he was an expert archer who could hit the target every time, so everyone admired him.
陈尧咨受到大家的赞赏之后，觉得自己的本领已经是天下无双了，便骄傲自满起来。
After being praised by everyone, Chen Yaozi felt that his skills were unparalleled in the world, so he became proud and complacent.
一天，陈尧咨又在靶场表演他擅长的百步穿杨的绝技，一支箭射出，把又细又软的柳枝条都射断了，现场观看的人们都大声喝彩，并要求再来一次。
One day, Chen Yaozi performed his unique skill of shooting through the willow tree at a hundred steps in the shooting range. With one arrow, he shot off the thin and soft willow branches. The people watching cheered loudly and asked for another try.
这时，有个卖油的老人正好从此处经过。看到后却笑着说：“哈哈哈，这有什么了不起的，只不过是手法熟练些罢了。”
At this time, an old man selling oil happened to pass by here. After seeing it, he smiled and said, "Hahaha, what's so great about this, it's just that he's more skilled."
陈尧咨听了不禁大怒，说道：“你这个老头有什么本领，竟然敢藐视我？”
Chen Yaozi couldn't help but get angry and said, "What skills do you have, old man, to dare to look down on me?"
老人回答道：“我哪敢藐视你，我只是从几十年的斟油经验中知道，做熟了的事情便会找到窍门的道理。”
The old man replied, "How dare I look down on you? I just know from decades of experience in pouring oil that you will find the tricks of doing things that you are familiar with."
说着他便从他的油担上取下一个葫芦，葫芦口上放一枚六孔铜钱，然后打了一勺油，高举油勺往葫芦里倒。
He took a gourd from his oil pole, put a six-hole copper coin on the mouth of the gourd, then poured a spoonful of oil and raised the oil spoon to pour it into the gourd.
倒下的油像一条线似的，穿过铜钱的孔进入葫芦中。
The poured oil passed through the hole of the copper coin like a line and entered the gourd.
油倒完了，他把铜钱拿起来给大家看，铜钱孔的周围竟然没有一点油渍。大家看了都称赞不已。
After the oil was poured, he picked up the copper coin and showed it to everyone. There was no oil stain around the hole of the copper coin. Everyone praised it.
老人微笑着对陈尧咨说：“我这也没什么了不起的，只是手法熟练罢了。”
The old man smiled and said to Chen Yaozi, "I'm nothing special, I'm just skilled."
陈尧咨听了一声不响地掉头走了。
Chen Yaozi turned around and walked away without saying a word.
这个故事告诉我们：不管做什么事情，只要勤学苦练，掌握规律，就能找出许多窍门，干起来就会得心应手。
This story tells us: no matter what you do, as long as you study hard and master the rules, you can find many tricks and do it easily.
