Shepherd and the Sea

从前，有一个小牧人，他每天都带着一群可爱的羊儿在绿草地上玩耍。

Once upon a time, there was a little shepherd. Every day he took a group of cute sheep to play on the green grass.

草地的尽头是一片广阔的大海，那里有无数美丽的鱼儿和闪闪发光的贝壳。

At the end of the grassland is a vast ocean, where there are countless beautiful fish and glittering shells.

有一天，小牧人赶着羊群到了海边。

One day, the little shepherd drove his sheep to the seaside.

然后看到了平静的大海，听见了海鸥的叫声，感受到了清爽的海风。

Then I saw the calm sea, heard the cries of seagulls, and felt the refreshing sea breeze.

然后他就不想再放羊了，他想去航海做生意。

Then he didn't want to herd sheep anymore, he wanted to go sailing and do business.

于是他卖掉了所有羊，然后去买了一些枣子，就准备装船出发了。

So he sold all his sheep, bought some dates, and prepared to load the ship and set off.

然后他坐着船在海上航行着，不料海上突然暴风雨，还刮起了大风暴。

Then he was sailing on the sea in a boat, but unexpectedly there was a sudden storm on the sea, and a big storm blew up.

船也快要沉下去了，他只能忍痛把购买的这些货物全都扔进大海，坐着空船才幸免于难。

The ship was about to sink, and he had no choice but to throw all the purchased goods into the sea and survive by sitting on an empty ship.

之后，有个人也来到了海边，看到海面很宁静，大为赞美，觉得大海宁静而温顺。

Later, another person also came to the beach. Seeing the calm sea, he praised it highly and felt that the sea was peaceful and gentle.

牧羊人深知大海的恐怖，不像表面那么平静。

The shepherd knew the horror of the sea and that it was not as calm as it appeared.

然后他对这人说：“好朋友，大海是又想要枣子了，所以才会显得如此宁静。”

Then he said to the man, "My good friend, the sea is craving dates again, so it appears so calm."

这个故事告诉我们：人们从磨难中能得到学问。还有不能光凭外表来判断事物；要预计到其中可能存在的风险。

This story tells us that people can learn from hardships. Also, we should not judge things by appearance alone; we should anticipate the possible risks.

所以小朋友们，不要只看外表来判断事物，可能里面潜藏危险是你没有发现的哦。

So kids, don’t judge things based on their appearance alone, there may be hidden dangers that you haven’t discovered.
