用英语讲寓言小故事——Little Pony Crossing the River 小马过河

从前，有一匹小马，它的妈妈让它去磨坊送袋粮食。

Once upon a time, there was a pony whose mother asked it to deliver a bag of grain to the mill.

小马高兴地答应了，驮着粮食出发了。

The pony happily agreed and set off with the food.

走着走着，小马来到了河边。

As the pony walked, he came to the river.

它看到河水哗啦哗啦地流着，有点害怕，不知道该不该过河。

It saw the river flowing and was a little scared, not knowing whether it should cross the river.

这时候，它看到一只小松鼠正好从树上跳下来，小马就问：“小松鼠，小松鼠，你知道我能过去这条河吗？”

At this time, it saw a little squirrel jumping down from the tree, so the pony asked, "Little squirrel, little squirrel, do you know how I can get across the river?"

小松鼠摇摇头，说：“小马，千万别过河！我哥哥就因为过河被水冲走了，太危险了！”

The little squirrel shook his head and said, "Little Pony, don't cross the river! My brother was washed away by the water when he crossed the river. It's too dangerous!"

小马听了，更加害怕了，不敢过河了。

After hearing this, the pony became even more frightened and dared not cross the river.

它又回到了妈妈那里。妈妈看着小马，说：“孩子，你为什么没把粮食送到磨坊呢？”

It went back to its mother. The mother looked at the pony and said, "Son, why didn't you take the grain to the mill?"The other mice said, "No, there are no cats anywhere."

小马委屈地说：“妈妈，我到了河边，小松鼠说河水太深，不能过河。”

The pony said aggrievedly: "Mom, I got to the river, but the little squirrel said the river was too deep and we couldn't cross it."

妈妈笑了笑，说：“孩子，别怕，去问问老牛伯伯。”

The mother smiled and said, "Don't be afraid, child. Go ask Uncle Cow."

小马又跑到河边，看到老牛伯伯在喝水。The pony ran to the river again and saw Old Uncle Cow drinking water.

它问：“老牛伯伯，我能不能过这条河啊？”

It asked: "Uncle Cow, can I cross this river?"

老牛伯伯听了，哈哈大笑，说：“小马，这条河很浅，我每天都从这里走过，水只到我的膝盖。”

Uncle Cow laughed when he heard this and said, "Little Pony, this river is very shallow. I walk here every day and the water only reaches my knees."

小马有点困惑了，不知道该听谁的。

The pony was a little confused and didn't know who to listen to.

它回到妈妈身边，妈妈温柔地说：“孩子，别人说的只能做参考，最重要的是你自己去试一试，才能知道答案。”

It returned to its mother, who gently said, "Child, what others say can only be used as a reference. The most important thing is to try it yourself to know the answer."

小马点点头，鼓起勇气，小心翼翼地走进河里。

The pony nodded, mustered up his courage, and walked carefully into the river.

它发现河水真的不深，只到它的小腿。

It found that the river was not deep at all, only up to its calves.

小马高兴地过了河，把粮食送到了磨坊。The pony happily crossed the river and delivered the grain to the mill.
