用英语讲寓言小故事——The Tree and the Axe 树和斧子

从前，有一片美丽的森林，里面住着许多高大的树木。

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful forest with many tall trees living in it.

这些树木给小动物们提供了阴凉和食物，森林里的生活非常和谐美好。

These trees provide shade and food for small animals, and life in the forest is very harmonious and beautiful.

有一天，一把崭新的斧子来到森林里。

One day, a brand new axe came into the forest.

树木们大声呼喊：“斧子，你答应过不会伤害我们的！”

The trees cried out, "Axe, you promised not to hurt us!"

But the axe had become greedy and no longer paid attention to the trees' cries and continued to chop.

最后，森林里的树木越来越少，斧子也失去了他赖以生存的木柄。

Finally, there were fewer and fewer trees in the forest, and the axe lost the wooden handle on which he depended for survival.

森林变得荒凉，动物们也无处可去，只能离开。

The forest became desolate and the animals had nowhere to go so they left.

这个故事告诉我们，要小心对待那些表面看似无害的事物和人。不要轻易相信别人的甜言蜜语，要学会保护自己。

This story tells us to be careful with things and people that seem harmless. Don't easily believe in other people's sweet words, and learn to protect yourself.
