用英语讲寓言小故事——Little Monkey Goes Down The Mountain 小猴子下山

从前，在一座高高的山上，住着一只活泼的小猴子。

Once upon a time, on a high mountain, there lived a lively little monkey.

有一天，小猴子决定下山去看看外面的世界。

One day, the little monkey decided to go down the mountain to see the outside world.

他兴奋地一路蹦蹦跳跳，准备探索新奇的事物。

He jumped all the way with excitement, ready to explore new things.

小猴子刚下山不久，就看见一片金灿灿的玉米地。

Soon after the little monkey came down the mountain, he saw a golden cornfield.

他心想：“哇，这么多玉米，我带一根回去！”

He thought to himself, "Wow, that's a lot of corn. I'll take some home!"

于是，小猴子摘了一根大玉米，抱在怀里，继续往前走。

So the little monkey picked a big corn, held it in his arms, and continued walking forward.

走着走着，小猴子又看见一棵苹果树，树上结满了红红的苹果。

As he walked, the little monkey saw an apple tree full of red apples.

他心想：“苹果比玉米好吃多了，我还是带苹果吧！”

He thought to himself, "Apples are much tastier than corn, so I'd better bring apples!"

于是，他放下玉米，爬上树摘了一个大苹果，继续往前走。

So he put down the corn, climbed up the tree, picked a big apple, and continued walking.

走了没多久，小猴子又看见了一片甜美的葡萄园，葡萄紫莹莹的，散发着诱人的香气。

After walking for a while, the little monkey saw a sweet vineyard. The grapes were purple and exuded an enticing aroma.

他心想：“葡萄比苹果更好吃，我还是带葡萄吧！”

He thought to himself, "Grapes taste better than apples, so I'd better bring grapes!"

于是，他放下苹果，摘了一串葡萄，继续往前走。

So he put down the apple, picked a bunch of grapes, and continued walking.

再往前走，小猴子看见一片西瓜地，西瓜绿油油的，看起来非常诱人。

Walking further, the little monkey saw a watermelon field. The watermelons were green and looked very tempting.

他心想：“西瓜最解渴，我还是带西瓜吧！”

He thought to himself, "Watermelon is the best way to quench your thirst, so I'd better bring watermelon!"

于是，他放下葡萄，抱起一个大西瓜往回走。

So he put down the grapes, picked up a big watermelon and walked back.

可是，西瓜太大太重了，小猴子抱不住，没走几步就摔倒了。

However, the watermelon was too big and heavy for the little monkey to hold, and he fell down after taking a few steps.

西瓜滚下山坡，摔得粉碎。小猴子两手空空地回到了山上。

The watermelon rolled down the hillside and broke into pieces. The little monkey returned to the hillside empty-handed.

这个故事告诉我们：做事不要贪心，也不要总是改变主意。小猴子因为不断放弃自己已有的，最终什么也没得到。

This story tells us: Don't be greedy and don't change your mind all the time. The little monkey kept giving up what he already had, and in the end he got nothing.

我们在生活中也要学会珍惜眼前的东西，专注于一个目标，坚持下去，才能收获成功。

In life, we must also learn to cherish what is in front of us, focus on a goal, and stick to it, so that we can achieve success.
