Great virtue can carry all things(good and evil)

是出自《周易》中的名言，这句话蕴含了深厚的人生哲学和道德准则。

This is a famous saying from the "Zhouyi", which contains profound life philosophy and moral principles.

天行健，君子以自强不息；

As Heaven's movement is ever vigorous, so must a gentleman ceaselessly strive along.

地势坤，君子以厚德载物。

As Earth is vast and grand, so a gentleman must embrace everything with virtue and tolerance.

第一句意思是，天道运行不息，就像太阳每天东升西落，四季循环往复。

The first sentence means that the laws of nature are constantly moving, just like the sun rising in the east and setting in the west every day, and the four seasons cycle over and over again.

君子（指品德高尚的人）应当像天一样，始终保持旺盛的生命力和不屈不挠的精神，不断努力、不断进步，永不停息。就像小朋友们每天都要学习新知识，做运动，让自己越来越强壮，越来越聪明一样。

A gentleman (a person of high moral character) should be like the sky, always maintaining vigorous vitality and indomitable spirit, constantly working hard, making progress, and never stopping, just like children learn new knowledge and exercise every day to make themselves stronger and smarter.

第二句描述的是大地的性质，大地宽广、包容，能够承载万物。

The second sentence describes the nature of the earth. The earth is broad, inclusive, and able to carry everything.

君子应当像大地一样，拥有宽广的胸怀和深厚的品德，能包容和接纳一切。就像小朋友们要学会分享玩具，和朋友们一起玩耍，对待他人要友好和善，这样我们才能拥有更多的朋友，生活也会更加快乐和充实。

A gentleman should be like the earth, with a broad mind and profound character, able to tolerate and accept everything. Just like children should learn to share toys, play with friends, and be friendly and kind to others, so that we can have more friends and live a happier and more fulfilling life.

而“厚德载物”不仅是说一个人品德好，更是说这个人能够用他的善良和爱心，去做很多好事，帮助很多人。

"Great virtue can carry all things" does not only mean that a person has good moral character, but also that this person can use his kindness and love to do many good things and help many people.

这是一种非常重要的品质，也是我们应该学习和追求的目标。

This is a very important quality and also a goal we should learn and pursue.

古代的人们非常重视品德和道德修养，他们认为一个人的品德应该像大地一样深厚，能够承载万物。

People in ancient times attached great importance to morality and moral cultivation. They believed that a person's character should be as deep as the earth, able to carry all things.

孔子论“厚德载物”

Confucius on "Virtue Carrying All Things"

孔子是中国古代最有名的思想家和教育家之一，他说过：“君子务本，本立而道生。”

Confucius is one of the most famous thinkers and educators in ancient China. He said: "The superior man bends his attention to what is radical. That being established, all practical courses naturally grow up." 

意思是，君子要专心致力于培养自己的品德，只有品德高尚，才能做出正确的道德选择，成为一个真正有用的人。

This means that a gentleman should concentrate on cultivating his own virtues. Only with noble virtues can he make the right moral choices and become a truly useful person.

孟子论“厚德载物”

Mencius on "Virtue Carrying All Things"

孟子是孔子的学生，他曾经也说过：“天将降大任于斯人也，必先苦其心志，劳其筋骨，饿其体肤，空乏其身，行拂乱其所为，所以动心忍性，增益其所不能。”

Mencius was a student of Confucius. He once said: "When Heaven is about to confer a great responsibility on a man, it must first make his mind and will suffer, his muscles and bones tired, his body hungry and empty, and his actions frustrated, so as to stimulate his heart and temper his nature, and increase his ability."

意思是，一个人如果要承担重大的责任，就必须先经历各种磨难，锻炼自己的意志和品德，这样才能真正做到“厚德载物”。

This means that if a person wants to take on great responsibilities, he must first experience various hardships and temper his will and morality, so that he can truly "be virtuous and moral".

在我国古代，有许多杰出的人物通过他们的言行和事迹展现了“厚德载物”的品德。例如：

In ancient my country, there were many outstanding figures who demonstrated the virtue of "great virtue can carry all things" through their words, deeds and deeds.For example:

诸葛亮：

Zhuge Liang:

三国时期蜀汉的丞相。他鞠躬尽瘁，死而后已，辅佐刘备和刘禅，为蜀汉的稳定和发展做出了巨大贡献。诸葛亮的智慧和忠诚，使他成为中国历史上著名的忠臣和智者。

Prime Minister of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. 岳飞：

Yue Fei:

南宋抗金名将，以“精忠报国”著称。他率领的岳家军多次战胜金军，保卫了国家的安宁。岳飞的忠诚和爱国精神，使他成为民族英雄。

A famous general in the Southern Song Dynasty who fought against the Jin Dynasty. He was famous for his "loyalty to serve the country". The Yuejia Army led by him defeated the Jin Army many times and safeguarded the tranquility of the country. Yue Fei's loyalty and patriotism made him a national hero.

当然还有尧舜禹等仁德君王，孔子孟子等圣贤之人，还有一些抗敌英雄，等等。
