The Fox and the Horse

从前，有一匹老马，它已经老了，不能再工作了。农夫不想给他东西吃了。

Once upon a time, there was an old horse. It was too old to work anymore, and the farmer didn't want to give it food.

农夫对老马说，你已经老了，我不想白白浪费粮食，除非你能证明你比狮子还强壮，我就把你牵回来。

The farmer said to the old horse, you are already old and I don’t want to waste food. Unless you can prove that you are stronger than a lion, I will bring you back.

老马伤心地走进了森林。在那里，它遇到了狐狸。狐狸问：“你为什么这么难过？”

The old horse walked into the forest sadly. There, he met a fox. The fox asked, "Why are you so sad?"

老马说：“我太老了，农夫不要我了。”The horse said, "I am too old, and the farmer doesn't want me anymore."

狐狸想了想，说：“我有一个好主意。我可以帮你。”

The fox thought for a while and said, "I have a good idea. I can help you."

狐狸告诉老马躺在地上装死。

The fox told the old horse to lie down on the ground and pretend to be dead.

然后它跑去狮子洞口说：“大王你快出来啊，大王，森林里有一匹死马，你可以饱餐一顿了。”

Then he ran to the lion's den and said, "Come out, my king. There is a dead horse in the forest. You can have a good meal."

狮子很高兴，就跑过去看到老马躺在地上，以为它真的死了。

The lion was very happy, so he ran over and saw the old horse lying on the ground, thinking it was really dead.

狐狸说：“大王你可以先缠着马尾巴，然后直接拖回去。”

The fox said, "Your Majesty, you can wrap it around the horse's tail first, and then drag it back directly."

然后狮子觉得可以，就把马尾巴缠在身上，但狐狸却设法将它的腿捆在一起，然后把狮子牢牢捆作一团，狮子没法动弹了。

Then the Lion thought it was okay and wrapped the horse's tail around himself, but the Fox managed to tie its legs together and then tied the Lion up so tightly that he couldn't move.

狐狸弄完一切后，让老马起来，拖着狮子回去了。

After the fox had done everything, he asked the old horse to get up and dragged the lion back.

狮子知道上了当，怎么挣扎都没有用。The lion knew he had been tricked, and no matter how he struggled, it was useless.

农夫看到老马拖着狮子回来了，很开心，然后决定好好照顾它。

The farmer was very happy to see the old horse dragging the lion back, and decided to take good care of it.

老马又有了家，再也不用担心了。

The old horse had a home again and no longer had to worry.
