The Fox and the Grapes

有一天，狐狸走在路上，突然发现前面有一棵葡萄树。

One day, the fox was walking on the road and suddenly found a grape vine in front of him.

一串串熟透了的葡萄挂在高高的藤架上，又大又红，馋的狐狸直流口水。

Bunches of ripe grapes hung on the tall trellis, big and red, making the greedy fox drool.

他想：“那些葡萄一定很好吃，我要吃到它们！”

He thought, "Those grapes must be delicious. I want to eat them!"

然后狐狸跳起来想要咬到葡萄，但它跳得不够高，没能咬到。

Then the fox jumped up and tried to bite the grapes, but he didn't jump high enough to bite them.

他又跳了几次，每次都失败了。

He tried several more times, but failed each time.

根本够不到葡萄，狐狸急坏了，累的直喘气。

The fox couldn't reach the grapes at all. He was so anxious that he was gasping for breath due to exhaustion.

然后狐狸想了个办法，去田里找了块石头，站在上面一直跳。

Then the fox thought of a way. He went to the field and found a stone, stood on it and kept jumping.

可是狐狸太矮了，还是够不到。

But the fox was too short and still couldn't reach it.

最后，他放弃了，边走边安慰自己说：“这些葡萄肯定没熟，是酸的，我才不要吃呢！”

Finally, he gave up and comforted himself as he walked, saying, "These grapes must be unripe and sour. I don't want to eat them!"

这个故事告诉我们，有些人总爱自欺欺人，他们没能力干好事情，就找借口说，时机未成熟，吃不到葡萄就说葡萄酸。
