The weather was extremely hot, and Cao Cao led a group of people on the road. They had been walking for many days.
士兵们抱怨着说：“哎呀！热死了！热死了！我们都快要烤成土豆了。”
The soldiers complained, "Oh! It's so hot! It's so hot! We are almost baked like potatoes."
There was no house along the way, and no one could be seen. The soldiers didn't even get a drop of water.
A soldier said, "I'm so thirsty, so thirsty, I can't walk anymore!" After saying that, he fell down with a plop and couldn't get up again.
Cao Cao was very anxious when he saw that there were fewer and fewer soldiers. He thought, "Everyone fell down before the battle. What should I do?"
Cao Cao rode his horse up a hill. He looked around to see if there were any rivers or lakes, but he only saw large areas of dry land and couldn't find any water at all.

Looking at the dry trees on the roadside, Cao Cao suddenly had an idea. He stood on a high place and pulled out the command flag, pointed it forward, and shouted loudly: "There is water! There is water!"
The soldiers were all refreshed when they heard it, and they quickly got up from the ground.
Cao Cao said: "There is a large plum forest not far ahead, with many big plums. Let's hurry there to eat plums."
After hearing what Cao Cao said, everyone thought about the sour taste of plums, and a lot of saliva flowed out of their mouths. With saliva in their mouths, the soldiers didn't feel so thirsty.
They were refreshed and hurried forward. After walking for a while, Cao Cao's army finally came to a lake.
Everyone can finally drink to their heart's content!
