英语绘本 ▏每日一读之《西游记—偷吃人参果 Stealing Ginseng Fruit》
这天，唐僧师徒来到了武庄观。
On this day, Tang Priest and his disciples came to Wuzhuang Temple.
正巧观主镇元子不在家，他的两个徒弟听唐僧说自己来自东土大唐后，忙把他们请进来。
It happened that the temple master Zhen Yuanzi was not at home. After his two disciples heard Tang Priest say that he came from the Tang Dynasty in the East, they hurriedly invited them in.
然后按照师傅的吩咐去园子里摘人参果给唐僧吃。
Then they went to the garden to pick ginseng fruits for Tang Sanzang to eat according to the master's instructions.
看着三个徒弟不在，两个童子端着两个人参果送到唐僧面前，唐僧看见人参果长得和婴儿一样，吓得浑身发抖。
Seeing that the three disciples were not there, two boys brought two ginseng fruits to Tang Priest. Tang Priest was frightened to tremble when he saw that the ginseng fruits looked like babies.
忙说：“快端走快端走！”两个童子回到房里，偷偷地将人参果分着吃了。
He hurriedly said, "Take them away quickly!" The two boys returned to the room and secretly shared the ginseng fruits.
而这件事正好被在厨房做饭的八戒，听得清清楚楚。
This incident happened to be heard clearly by Pigsy who was cooking in the kitchen.
悟空回来了，他听八戒说完后，用了个隐身法，偷走了摘人参果用的金击子。
Wukong came back. After listening to Pigsy's word, he used an invisible method to steal the golden hammer used to pick ginseng fruits.
悟空找到人参果树，打下来一个人参果后，却没有找到。问过土地公公才知道人参果遇到土就会钻进去。
Wukong found the ginseng fruit tree, knocked down a ginseng fruit, but did not find it. After asking the land god, he knew that ginseng fruits would drill into the soil when they met.
于是悟空用衣服接着摘了三个果子，回到厨房，悟空将人参果分给了八戒和沙僧。
So Wukong picked three fruits with his clothes and returned to the kitchen. Wukong shared the ginseng fruit with Pigsy and Sandy.
八戒一口将人参果吞了下去，什么味道也没吃出来。
Pigsy swallowed the ginseng fruit in one gulp, but he didn't taste anything.
就对悟空说：“猴哥，你再去偷几个吧。”悟空不肯，八戒不高兴地嘟囔：“能再吃一个多好。”
He said to Wukong: "Brother Monkey, go steal a few more." Wukong refused, and Pigsy muttered unhappily: "It would be great if I could eat one more."
这话正好被两个童子听见了。于是，他们怒气冲冲地找到唐僧师徒，说了很多难听的话。
The two boys happened to hear this. So, they angrily found Tang Priest and his disciples and said a lot of unpleasant words.
悟空非常生气，拿起金箍棒对着人参果树一通乱打，最后把人参果树连根拔起，仍在地上。
Wukong was very angry, picked up the Gold-Banded Staff and beat the ginseng fruit tree, and finally uprooted the ginseng fruit tree and threw it on the ground.
武庄观的两个门徒看见被连根拔起的树，吓得坐在地上大哭起来。
The two disciples of Wuzhuang Temple saw the uprooted tree and sat on the ground crying in fear.
镇元子回来后知道了这件事，驾着云来追唐僧师徒。
After Zhen Yuanzi came back and knew about this, he rode a cloud to chase Tang Priest and his disciples.
悟空见镇元子追上来了，拿起金箍棒就打。镇元子一闪躲开了。
Wukong saw Zhen Yuanzi catching up, so he picked up the Gold-Banded Staff and beat him. Zhen Yuanzi dodged.
镇元子将袍袖一张开，把唐僧师徒连人带马一起吸到了袖子里。
Zhen Yuanzi opened his sleeves and sucked Tang Priest and his disciples into his sleeves along with their horses.
镇元子回到观中之后，命自己的徒弟在元子中央烧了一锅热油，准备油炸孙悟空。
After Zhen Yuanzi returned to the temple, he ordered his disciples to heat a pot of hot oil in the center of the temple to fry Sun Wukong.
油烧开了，他们把孙悟空抬起来扔到锅里，油锅一下子被砸破了，原来这是孙悟空用自己的毫毛变出的替身，不是真正的孙悟空。
When the oil was boiling, they lifted Sun Wukong up and threw him into the pot. The oil pot was broken all of a sudden. It turned out that this was a substitute made by Sun Wukong using his hair, not the real Sun Wukong.
镇元子发现了这不是真的孙悟空，就指着唐僧说：“既然猴子跑了，那就把你扔锅里用油炸！”
Zhen Yuanzi found out that this was not the real Sun Wukong, so he pointed at Tang Priest and said, "Since the monkey ran away, I will throw you into the pot and fry you!"
悟空急忙从空中下来阻拦！
Wukong hurriedly came down from the air to stop him!
镇元子指着被连根拔起的人参果树说：“你只要把这棵树救活，我就放了你们。”
Zhen Yuanzi pointed at the ginseng fruit tree that was uprooted and said, "As long as you save this tree, I will let you go."
悟空点点头，转身和师父说：“放心，我一定会把树救活，等我回来！”说完架起筋斗云就飞走了。
Wukong nodded,turned around and said to his master, "Don't worry, I will definitely save the tree, wait for me to come back!" After that, he flew away with his somersault cloud.
悟空来到南海找菩萨帮忙，幸好菩萨手中净瓶里的甘露能医活人参果树。
Wukong came to the South China Sea to ask the Bodhisattva for help. Fortunately, the nectar in the Bodhisattva's bottle could heal the ginseng fruit tree.
菩萨跟着悟空一起来到了五庄观。菩萨一边念咒语，一边用杨柳沾了些甘露洒在树上。
The Bodhisattva followed Wukong to the Wuzhuang Temple.While chanting the mantra, the Bodhisattva used a willow to dip some nectar and sprinkled it on the tree.
没过多久，人参果树的叶子就绿了，人参果也长了出来。
Not long after, the leaves of the ginseng fruit tree turned green and ginseng fruits grew out.
镇元子看见树被救活了，高兴地让他的徒弟摘下十个人参果款待大家。
When Zhen Yuanzi saw that the tree was saved, he happily asked his apprentice to pick ten ginseng fruits to treat everyone.
唐僧师徒在五庄观里住了几天，又上路西行了！
Tang Seng and his apprentice stayed in Wuzhuang Temple for a few days and then set off on the journey to the west again!
