美猴王带着众猴在水帘洞里快乐的生活了许多年，最近他总是忧心忡忡的。
The Monkey King and monkeys lived happily in the Water Curtain Cave for many years, but he has been worried recently.
一只老猴子问他大王，您怎么了？
An old monkey asked him, "What's wrong with you?"
美猴王叹了口气说，哎，等我们都死了，这个好地方不就归别人了吗？
The Monkey King sighed and said, "Alas, when we all die, won't this good place belong to others?"
老猴子说，大王不必担心，世界上有长生不老之术。
The old monkey said, "Don't worry, there is a way to live forever in the world.
你看那些佛啊，神啊，不都是不死的吗？
Look at those Buddhas and gods, aren't they all immortal?"
美猴王一听高兴地说，那我明天就下山去寻访长生不老之术。
The Monkey King said happily, "Then I will go down the mountain to find the way to live forever tomorrow."
第二天清晨，美猴王坐着筏子出发了。
The next morning, the Monkey King set off on a raft.
几天后，美猴王上了岸，他走了很长时间后，看见一座美丽的高山。
A few days later, the Monkey King went ashore. After walking for a long time, he saw a beautiful mountain.
美猴王心想，这里一定有我要寻访的仙术。
The Monkey King thought, there must be the magic I want to find here.
上了山之后，美猴王听到树林里有人唱歌，他四处寻找，发现是一个砍柴的人唱的。
After going up the mountain, the Monkey King heard someone singing in the woods. He looked around and found that it was a woodcutter singing.
美猴王走上前问道，砍柴的，你知道仙人住在哪儿吗？
The Monkey King walked up and asked, "Woodcutter, do you know where the immortals live?"
砍柴人打量了美猴王，好一会儿才慢慢地说道，前面有个山洞，洞里有一位神仙叫菩提祖师。
The woodcutter looked at the Monkey King for a long time before he slowly said, there is a cave ahead, and there is a god called Bodhi Patriarch in the cave.
美猴王谢过砍柴人就向前走去，走了一会儿，美猴王果然看见一个山洞，他高兴极了。
The Monkey King thanked the woodcutter and walked forward. After walking for a while, the Monkey King saw a cave and was very happy.
一位仙童走了出来，他对美猴王说：“师父说洞口有人来访，就是你吧？快跟我进去吧！”
A fairy boy came out and said to the Monkey King: "Master said that someone is visiting the cave entrance. Is it you? Come in with me!"
美猴王来到洞内，菩提祖师端坐在台上，美猴王连忙跪倒在地，嘴里说道：“弟子是诚心来学道的。”
The Monkey King came into the cave, and Bodhi Patriarch was sitting on the stage. The Monkey King knelt down on the ground and said: "Disciple is sincere to learn the Tao."
菩提祖师问：“你叫什么名字？”
Bodhi Patriarch asked: "What is your name?"
美猴王大声回答道：“我是从石头里长的，没名没姓。”
The Monkey King answered loudly: "I grew up from a stone, I have no name or surname."
菩提祖师说：“那你起来走走吧。”
Bodhi Patriarch said: "Then you get up and walk around."
美猴王站起来走了一圈。
The Monkey King stood up and walked around.
菩提祖师笑着说：“你还挺像个猢狲的，就叫孙悟空吧！”
Bodhi Patriarch smiled and said: "You look like a monkey, so let's call you Sun Wukong!"
此后，悟空就和师兄们一起学习言语礼貌、讲经论道。
After that, Wukong learned polite speech and preached scriptures with his brothers.
转眼间六七年过去了，一天菩提祖师在讲经，悟空听到精彩之处，高兴地手舞足蹈。
Six or seven years passed in the blink of an eye. One day, Bodhi Patriarch was lecturing, and Wukong danced with joy when he heard the wonderful part.
祖师问：“悟空，你来这也很久了，想跟我学些什么呢？”
The Patriarch asked: "Wukong, you have been here for a long time. What do you want to learn from me?"
悟空也说不清楚自己要学什么。
Wukong couldn't tell what he wanted to learn.
于是菩提祖师把能学的本领，一一对他说明了。
So Bodhi Patriarch explained to him the skills he could learn one by one.
可是只要不能长生不老，悟空就喊着不学。
But as long as he couldn't live forever, Wukong shouted that he would not learn.
菩提祖师拿起戒尺，在悟空的脑袋上敲了三下，然后轻声地说：“你这也不学，那也不学，到底要学什么呢？”说完，菩提祖师就走了。
Bodhi Patriarch picked up the ruler and knocked Wukong on the head three times, then said softly: "You don't learn this, you don't learn that, what do you want to learn?" After that, Bodhi Patriarch left.
师兄们都埋怨悟空惹师父生气，可是悟空照样玩耍。他觉得菩提祖师并没有生气，因为他已经猜出了祖师的用意了。
The brothers all complained that Wukong made the master angry, but Wukong played as usual. He felt that Bodhi Patriarch was not angry because he had guessed the Patriarch's intention.
这天晚上，三更（23点到凌晨1点）的时候，悟空悄悄地来到菩提祖师的房中。
That night, at one o'clock , Wukong quietly came to Bodhi Patriarch's room.
菩提祖师问：“你半夜来干什么？”
Bodhi Patriarch asked: "What are you doing here in the middle of the night?"
悟空嬉皮笑脸地说：“师父打我三下，不就是让我三更来吗？”
Wukong said with a smile: "Master hit me three times, isn't it to let me come at midnight?"
菩提祖师见悟空如此聪明，就将长生不老之术和七十二变的秘诀都教给了悟空。
Seeing that Wukong was so smart, Bodhi Patriarch taught Wukong the art of immortality and the secret of seventy-two polymorphic transformations.
一天，师兄们正在玩闹时，悟空摇身一变，变成了一棵松树，大家都鼓掌叫好。
One day, when the brothers were playing, Wukong suddenly transformed into a pine tree, and everyone applauded.
听到喧哗声，菩提祖师走了出来，严厉地对悟空说：“你下山去吧，我不喜欢爱卖弄的徒弟。”
Hearing the noise, Bodhi Patriarch came out and said to Wukong sternly: "Go down the mountain, I don't like disciples who like to show off."
悟空再三恳求，菩提祖师都不肯留他，悟空只好无奈地下山回花果山了。
Wukong begged again and again, but Bodhi Patriarch refused to keep him, so Wukong had no choice but to go down the mountain and return to Huaguo Mountain.
